I am a homeowner at a property managed by Spectrum Property Management. I have found them not only to be unresponsive, but completely ignorant of the law with regards to HOA's. I attempted to get a list of the HOA members and was told that the information was "privileged". I sent Spectrum a copy of the CA Corp Code, Section 8330(2), which details the requirement to send member list of names and addresses of members upon written request. Later, some of the members asked to review cleaning & maintenance contracts. Once again, Cheri from Spectrum told us that this was privileged. Once again, we had to send the CA code and repeat the requirements to Spectrum. I don't know if this is ignorance or just plain lying. And I can't figure out what they hope to gain. And then there is the condescending attitude - Spectrum apparently does not understand that they are a service provider, and that they can...and likely will, be fired. I recommend you look elsewhere.
     Anonymous user - 2/19/2015 - Ever since I have been involved with Spectrum Property Management in Ventura, California, I have found them to be exactly as you described. At one HOA we were actually successful at removing them as the management company. I wish we could do the same at my new place.
