My husband and I went to Luke because he was used by many of our acquaintances who said he knew the tax law well enough to get us the best refunds possible - in a legit way. We said, Great! We went for the first time in 2012. He charged us around $300 for a $5000 refund. We looked it over, signed it, got our copies and left. At home I looked it over again and questioned a section where the numbers didn't seem to add up. I called and spoke to Yvonne who said they're the experts and all the information is right. She said the figure came from another section. I thought ok. Then may of 2013 I get a letter from the IRS auditing those taxes for an education credit. But we never went to school, nor did we claim that we did, nor did our tax return show a claim for an education credit. So why are they asking for proof of education? i met with the IRS auditor and she tells me that my original tax return was rejected TWICE because of a miscalculation. She highlighted the exact section I had questioned Yvonne about. She said changes were made, an education credit with specific tuition figures for both my husband and me were added and resubmitted. She said nothing can be changed without our approval and asked if we approved that. This was the first I had heard of our tax return even being rejected so of course we did not approve of any changes. Regardless, we received a refund that was not due to us and now we owe the IRS $4600. when we contacted Luke's office to question it, they said they had no idea what happened. When we asked for a refund they stopped responding to our calls or emails. In addition, the IRS let us know that he is being investigated by them. This was in may 2013. I don't know the results of the investigation or if its still ongoing but if I had known all of this could have possibly happened, I would have never taken our chances with him. So I share with you. There are far more legit places to go to than to take your chances with him.
