CRMC purchased the home during the rental period - lease was originally signed with Kevin Miller who owned the home. CRMC has put a hold on the account of the graduated student in the amount of $1,500 after keeping a $1,200 security deposit and getting an additional $330 from another roommate that they served legal papers to for trumped up charges on move out. The home was the "capital green" home for years and the conditions upon move in were not good. Only reason to live there was the history of the house with the Cap Green group and the fact that no one expects much for off-campus housing. But to charge the unfortunate tenants the year of the sale to CRMC over $3,000 to fix doors and windows?? Not sure how Mr. Wells sleeps at night knowing that his personal attorney, Andrew Sass, camps out at the court house and has a full time job suing students he knows have left the area in pursuit of jobs. To reach out and prevent these graduates from making rent with hold on their bank accounts is just wrong. CRMC gives a bad name to student housing and is a black eye to the University. Conversely, my daughter rented a home outside Notre Dame from a very professional group and never experienced anything like this. i think the University should really think about those that prey on the students and what influence they may have to help.
