Mr. Sakurai was retained and paid in advance to do an appraisal. We have a lengthy e-mail record (over 5 months) of commitments and promises that have not been met. We are currently pursuing actions to recover our funds. Beware!

Mr. Sakurai was sanctioned by the State of Maine for incompetence as an appraiser. Beware: If your lender, mortgage broker or closing agent sends Mr. Sakurai to your home to complete an appraisal, refuse his services and ask for another appraiser to be assigned (they're a dime a dozen, so lots to choose from). Mr. Sakurai arrived at our home looking extremely unkempt and unprofessional. His demeanor could be described as follows: "I'm the appraiser, stay out of my way and what I say goes". To top it all off, he made errors in the appraisal (wrong # of bedrooms/bathrooms reported). So on top of his unprofessional presentation he was incompetent. When the appraisal referral company learned of our experience with him, they told us they would not be using his services again. Glad we could help the next client avoid this guy...hope you appreciate the warning, too.
