I hope this is a way to communicate with the owners of our local news rag. I am a business owner, and I am fearful of retaliation therefore, I have to remain anonymous. I requested a way to contact an official above your publisher and editor at the Dumas Texas newspaper, and was told that there was no one. I did my research and found that Lancaster Management owns Moore County Publishing aka Moore County News Press. There is too much to address in one communication, but I will say that the manor that this business is operated is damning. Up front, Mrs. Brooks and Mr. Wright seem professional and extremely friendly, but there has been more than one time that I have come into the business, and while waiting to be serviced, I hear swearing, hateful words, and at one point, Mrs. Brooks and Mr. Wright are discussing personal things about people whose names I recognize. All with in ear shot of anyone at the front of the building. When I first witnessed the office manager speaking bluntly about her mother, the publisher,I thought it comical, but then I found that what she said of her mother was true. I was appalled. The paper, in recent years, has developed a reputation with its high turn around rate, but I, for one, can see that it's obvious why that is. I use their services because they are the only newspaper coverage in this rural area, I, however, don't have to subscribe, or participate in any of the drivel they attempt to sign me up for because I know what goes on behind the scenes, what they say about people in the community and about each other, and how employees are treated. If I have witnessed it, I wonder how many other people have witnessed it and how long the paper will exist with such management. If something better comes along, I'm gone.
